Ethan Vogt pitches complete-game shutout for the Elrosa Saints against New Munich - Norway Lake/Sunburg advances with walk-off RBI single vs. Regal

Elrosa shortstop Matt Middendorf twists one of his numerous putouts in the New Munich game today.

After going 5-8 in the regular season of the Stearns County League, the Elrosa Saints are now 6-1 in the playoffs after a dominant performance in a winner's bracket game today against New Munich, blanking the Silverstreaks 3-0.


The first score of the game, an RBI-double by Spring Hill draftee Nate Terres in the bottom of the first inning was the eventual game-winner.

Elrosa is now 13-10 overall including non-SCL games in 2009.

In the third game of the day, Norway Lake-Sunburg defeated Regal with Jordan Johnson's walk-off RBI single to knock the Eagles from Region 15C competition.

In the opening game of the day, Lake Henry was shocked by St.Martin in an 8-1 loss that ended their quick run at regions.

KASM 1150 AM sports broadcaster Randy Rothstein sang the National Anthem before the Lake Henry-St.Martin game on Sunday.


Next Saturday's matchups: *12:00 game features Elrosa vs. St.Martin in the Region 15C winner's bracket final. *2:30 game features New Munich vs. Norway Lake/Sunburg in an elimation game.
