Jaguars Boys Basketball bounces back from 3rd loss of the season with a convincing win vs. Maple Lake

The Jaguars (15-3, 8-1 CMC) are now in the driver's seat in the hunt for the Central Minnesota Conference after their 63-38 win over the visiting Irish. Their 8-1 record right now in the league won't mean much, though, if they don't beat Rockford later next week in Rockford.

Maple Lake's boys basketball team falls to 11-8 overall and 6-2 in the CMC.

The Jaguars girls basketball team lost at Ashby 70-65 in a fast-paced game filled with numerous lead changes. The loss damages their ability to jump over the Arrows (7-8) in the sub-section seeding picture.

Ashby's senior Amanda Johnson poured in 34 points, hauled in eight rebounds, and grabbed five steals to lead her team to the win.

They still have room to move up - they just need to get on a winning streak, and fast. Their overall record is 5-13 with eight games left on the schedule before playoffs. In my opinion, all eight are very winnable games. Even going 6-2 down the stretch would set them up well for a mid-range seed in Sub-Section 6A-South. They just need to take it one game at a time.
