Area football playoff opener results

In the only game played tonight in Section 4A, St.Agnes won 21-16 in a tight contest over #5 seed West Lutheran.

Saturday's semi-final match ups in Section 4A:
#1 seed Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City hosts #4 seed St.Agnes.
#2 seed Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity hosts our #3 seeded Jaguars football team in Lester Prairie.

Big kudos to the Central Minnesota Conference, as the top five teams in the conference all won their quarterfinal openers in Sections 4AA, 5AA, and 6AA. What can I say? The CMC is one of the best mid-size football conferences in Minnesota.

Also, 38 seasons of winning football came to and end tonight in Willmar, when the host Cardinals beat the Hutchinson Tigers 21-7 in Section 2AAAA.

(Hutch was above-.500 every year for 38 years until now)
