Jaguars boys basketball blasts 7-1 Brandon/Evansville by 30+ points

In a non-conference game between sub-section opponents, the Jaguars boys basketball team made a big statement with an 85-51 win over visiting Brandon/Evansville in an afternoon game today. They've still got a long ways to go to being at playoff form, but today's game was a step in the right direction. They'll need to bring the same type of performance for their next game, at Howard Lake next Tuesday. (See more on that below)

At halftime, the Jaguars (11-0) had built a 38-21 lead. The Chargers (7-2) would get no closer than 16 points in the second half. The Jaguars made a racket out of the Chargers' transition defense, taking it down court with break neck speed at every opportunity.

The Chargers only other loss was on January 4 to West Central Area in two overtimes, 71-66.

Up next for the Jaguars: their toughest test in conference play so far, when they travel to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Tuesday in a Central Minnesota Conference game. The Lakers are 2-1 in the CMC and 9-3 overall.
