Coming up - a home girls basketball game against Pierz on Thursday - Game will be aired on 106.5 FM

It should be an excellent ball game, when the Pierz Pioneers face off with the Jaguars girls basketball team in a home game tomorrow night.

The Pioneers are a half game behind Central Minnesota Conference front-runner Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in the standings.

Here's the breakdown of the CMC in girls basketball:

1 - HLWW (9-3)
2 - Pierz (8-3)
3 - EV-W (7-4)
4 - Kimball (6-5)
5 (tie) B-B-E and Rockford (5-6)
7- Holdingford (4-7)
8- Maple Lake (1-11)

Meanwhile, the Jaguars boys basketball team has a solid test coming up with a road trip up I-94 to Ashby on Thursday night. The Arrows are the fourth-best team in Sub-Section 6A-South, and the game will most likely be well-scouted by coaches or assistants from many of the Little Eight Conference teams and fans. Ashby sits at 12-7 overall and 6-4 in the Little Eight Conference.
