State wrestling update ...and Jaguar boys' basketball notes

The two athletes who defeated Tyler Tensen and Ross Rath in the opener earlier today both lost their quarterfinal round matches tonight. Tensen and Rath were eliminated from the tournament with those results.

Patrick Rooney lost by pin against a 44-0 athlete from Jackson County Central, senior Cooper Moore. In his first wrestleback match, he faced Nathan Mattison of Wabasso/Red Rock Central and won by decision with an 11-3 score.

Also, at halftime, the Jaguars boys' basketball team decided to post a 56-8 score over the Holdingford Huskers. The Holdingford managers tallied 13 turnovers for the Huskers in the first half.
