Strength in the middle boosts Jaguar matmen vs. Lakers

Boosted by two pins at the middle weights of 138 and 145 pounds, the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team got just what they needed in order to overcome an inspired challenge from a struggling Minnewaska Area team last night. In the end, B-B-E won 39 to 30 to raise their record to 6-1 heading into this Friday's NL-S Tournament.

The Lakers, who entered last night's match with a 4-8 dual meet record, had given up as many as five forfeits in action last week. They had that down to three forfeits against the Jaguars, although B-B-E also had a forfeit at heavyweight along with Minnewaska.

Below, action from Ross Rath's last completed match, where he beat a K-M-S wrestler 5-1 in the first round of the Jaguar Invite on January 4...Rath lost his second match by injury default and has not competed since...

Other teams coming to NL-S on Friday include Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, Eden Valley-Watkins, Lakeville South, Minnetonka, Princeton and Redwood Valley/Cedar Mountain.
