All-Star game
A barn burner played out at Elrosa's Saints Field when the Stearns County League and County Line League All-Star game was held last night, Friday, June 24.
The County Line League posted a 2-1 lead in the first inning, and that held up until the bottom of the fifth. Then Kyle Lieser (St. Martin) clubbed a two-RBI triple to put his team ahead 3-2.

The Stearns County League ended up winning by a 5-4 score. They scored another run in the bottom of the sixth for a 4-2 lead. Jordan Beier (Regal) and Jonah Johnson (Norway Lake-Sunburg) both scored in the top of the seventh inning on two SCL errors to tie the game at 4-4. Bryan Schlangen's (St. Martin) sacrifice-fly RBI that scored Chad Funk (New Munich) in the bottom of the seventh to cap the game's scoring. Overall the SCL used seven pitchers who combined for 15 strikeouts.
Next for the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team is a game on Sunday (1:30 p.m.), June 26 at Lake Henry.
The Elrosa Saints Little Dipper team plays at Roscoe on Sunday night, looking to remain undefeated in the Stearns County League 10-team standings.
