State baseball update
Lake Henry is in the state Final Four! The Lakers won 3-2 earlier today over Faribault in the quarterfinals. The game was tied 2-2 after three innings, and Lake Henry scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning.
Patrick Courtney (New London-Spicer draftee) the winning pitcher, entering in relief and going six innings. Weston Brinkman started, pitching the first three innings.
Lake Henry takes on New Prague tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The game will be in Hamburg.
*Update: Lake Henry defeated New Prague 4-2! They advance to the Class C state tournament championship game for the first time in team history. Their opponent will be Kimball, and the title game will be played at 3 p.m. on Monday at Irish Yard in Green Isle.
Kimball defeated Bemidji 3-0 in the other semifinal game on Sunday night.
