Withstanding the pressure
After seeing a 17-point lead dwindle to a 50-47 margin, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team put it all back together down the stretch in a 68-52 win over visiting Pierz tonight. Pierz (4-5, 1-2) had a strong rally after trailing 43-26 with barely two minutes gone in the second half. A 13-2 run by Pierz narrowed it to a 45-39 lead with 12 minutes left.
With 6:52 remaining, Pierz got two free throws to make it a 50-47 game. B-B-E then limited Pierz with suffocating defense that gave up just two field goals the rest of the way.
The Jaguars shot a solid 16-of-22 from the free throw line and made eight of 15 three-point shots. For the game, they had an excellent 51 percent field goal mark that was key to the win. Pierz shot 32 percent from the floor for the game and made just three of 22 three-point attempts.

They take an 8-2 overall record (3-2 CMC) into Upsala on Thursday for a non-conference, sub-section match up with a very good Cardinals squad.
