Busy Friday night

...well, all of Friday has been busy! But the evening was pretty intense from the perspective of small town journalism!

Upon rolling back into town from the track and field meet at Minnewaska Area, I saw numerous Brooten Fire Department trucks with their lights on blocking off an intersection near the elementary school. My heart sank: all I could think of was that a kid was hit by a vehicle......then thank goodness it turned out to be much less serious. Two power pole lines were taken out by a semi (appears to be a pure accident) and caused havoc with the power in that part of Brooten and a part of Bangor township.

I'll post more on Saturday. I didn't get any results from the track and field meet. (yet)
