Border battle goes to the Jaguars

The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team raised their profile in a big way tonight with a double-digit 73-54 win over visiting Paynesville Area. The Bulldogs (3-1) averaged 72 points a game through their first three games of the season. B-B-E entered the game with a 31.3 points-per-game defensive average, which meant something had to give.

The Jaguars made 10 more two-point shots than the Bulldogs, accounting for the biggest difference in the game on the stats sheet. B-B-E had four made three-pointers, while Paynesville had three made threes.

Luke Dingmann's career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds led the way for the Jaguars.

With 3:35 left, the Jaguars held a 67-50 lead after the Bulldogs scored four straight points. Earlier in the second half, Ashton Dingmann's three-pointer with 10:07 left put the Jaguars ahead by double digits for the second time of the night. The score was 52-41 at that point. Earlier, the Jaguars forged a 47-37 lead with 11:30 left on a shot from Luke Dingmann.

The JV Jaguars won 60-43 after holding a 27-17 halftime lead.
