The number 64 (VIDEOS added)

*Photo from Wednesday, November 27, 2013...this was during Josey Tensen's junior year at B-B-E high school.
Josey Tensen, a returning state entrant from last year, is shown during his 4-2 win by decision in the 120-pound Jaguar Invitational semifinals against Willmar's Juan Resendez. Tensen ultimately took second place at the Jaguar Invite, helping the Jaguars to third place as a team. This invitational kicked off the 2013-2014 wrestling season.

For me, I have a new appreciation for the number 64 after visiting with numerous locals tonight in Sedan and Brooten. In one conversation, I learned that Josey Tensen helped build 64 decks during a recent summer as a contractor for Heritage Exterior and Restoration. (I'll get better details on that before writing about it in next week's paper)

Sixty-four decks!

After leaving a memorable impression on B-B-E schools as a student and student-athlete, Josey continued that by leaving what will be a lasting impression on anyone he worked with or was friends with. He was a skilled craftsman and tradesman as a young adult.

Jaguar Country will be heartbroken over his passing for a long, long time. We mourn the loss of Josey and his girlfriend, Remington Harder of Hutchinson. They are with the angels now looking over all of us.

Here's a Bonanza Valley Voice web article with more on Josey Tensen, including notes on Remington. They could have lived a full and amazing life before the fatal and tragic accident on Friday in Nebraska (short link) = https://bit.ly/3tjQ3Az.

I gotta re-post this video because it was just so much fun to be a part of. This was early in Josey's senior wrestling season, December of 2014. That night, his Jaguars earned just the second win ever for B-B-E against Paynesville Area. This video shows Joe Reller winning by pin at 220 pounds to make the score 45-28.

Josey Tensen was the first Jaguar to slap Reller's hand when he got back to the huddle. He had a huge part in the success of the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team during the first half of the last decade. We will never forget him.

By the way, here's a link to read the full blog recap of the season-opening Jaguar Invitational on November 27, 2013: https://bit.ly/2MJPNdi.

And I finally got around to uncovering some football clips. This is from Josey's senior season of football. The date was Friday, September 12, 2014, with the B-B-E Jaguars playing at Kimball. The video is from the opening drive of the second half. The Cubs were trying to convert a third-and-five possession. Kimball's tall, brawny wide receiver Jarred Merchant caught a pass, but Josey was right there for a quick tackle! Boom! The Cubs were one yard short, and they proceeded to fail on the fourth-and-one conversion attempt.

The Jaguars won that game by a 14-6 score after trailing 6-0 at halftime. Every play mattered in that game.
