Funeral live stream today (VIDEO)
Here's the link that can be shared, or you can share the link of this blog post, where I've got the video player embedded below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-IrFEBDstU
The video player will not be "live" until after 2:45 p.m.
Bundle up if you are traveling today!
**Update: the stream will best be viewed on a computer with speakers, or on a cell phone with earbuds or a head set. Our test run today was successful!!
*Update: we may not have enough battery to get through the funeral. We'll see! Unfortunately we also won't be able to record it, but YouTube Live will have a copy of it.
High-quality audio of the funeral is being recorded. That's the best we can guarantee for playback.
At any one time at least 400 were watching the funeral during the live stream.
**I'm happy to say that the live stream was pulled off without incident! In order to pull it off, I couldn't record it in high-def. We had to go "all in" on the live stream. I could have played with more settings and pulled off some more tricks, but that would've likely endangered the live stream.
It worked out. Thank you to everyone who helped share the link. It was a heart-warming funeral. Difficult, but at the same time, it has helped many find peace.
And let's all be thankful for Josey and Remi's family to allow the funeral to be shared online. That's a big deal. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share their stories. That takes a great deal of courage!
*Update: by the time the funeral was complete, it had over 1,500 views. Just shy of midnight on Sunday night, it surpassed 2,500 views. Amazing.
Gonna sneak these two videos out before the end of the night...
First, here's archive video from February 6, 2014. This was during Josey's junior season of wrestling and features one of his best friends and fellow classmate on the mats, Steven Mady. The Jaguars were taking it to Prairie Valley (Parkers Prairie/Eagle Valley co-op), and Mady's pin at 145 pounds put them ahead 33-3. It gets exciting right around the 45-second mark!
The Jaguars won that home dual by a 42-21 score.
And it took a little more digging, but here's a four minute video clip from one of Josey's matches at the Jaguar Invite on January 3, 2014. I will try looking up more details and updating this on Monday. He built a 5-0 lead, and the way it looks, he had a 7-2 lead before the third period started.
*Looked it up: Josey was wrestling at 120 pounds that day. He ultimately placed second and lost a 6-2 decision in the finals. In this match in this video from the semifinals, Josey ended up winning by a 10-5 decision over James Holen of Ottertail Central.
It cannot be overstated how much Josey loved wrestling and how much he loved his teammates.
