Friday was super, super busy *And wrestling update
Friday was an extremely super, super busy day. On the heels of a 16-page December 16 issue, the machinery that makes up the news and sports departments of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper is gearing up for another issue that will include "at least" 16 pages next week.
It was terrific to hear that over 50 students participated in the middle school (grades 5-8) dance at the high school tonight. What a magnificent addition to their December activities! This was actually their second high school dance of this school year, as one was also held in the fall. From firsthand reports I heard from students who attended, they all had a great time. We are so extremely fortunate to live in Minnesota's land of Rocks and Cows, where our kids can live entirely normal lives.
I hope to see many of you in Brooten for Santa Day on Saturday! (Read more here = https://bit.ly/3F42gP4.
Holy cow! The B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team currently leads the field in the 28-team Jackhammer Invitational at Pequot Lakes high school. The event runs tonight and tomorrow. I'll get more posted in the morning on that. They have 124 team points compared to Big Lake and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus, who sit tied for second place with 115 points. Crazy stat: Big Lake, a Section 6AA school, has a grades 9-12 enrollment of 877. B-B-E's hovers around 170.
Also worth noting: Big Lake is the No. 4-ranked team in Class 2A, while PL/PRB is ranked No. 5 in Class 2A.
