GAME NIGHT! at Fergus Falls (VIDEO)
Here we go! It's a night for a big, huge road trip for the first time of the fall volleyball or football seasons! This is what we work for in Jaguar Country! It does not happen by chance. The fact that our B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team is playing in a subsection championship tonight for the 21st time in 35 years of the Jaguar athletic program is the result of hard work and fierce determination by the players and their families! We are immensely proud of what they've accomplished so far, but they are not done. They have a tall task ahead, too...facing the West Central Area Knights in a match taking place just next door to their school district.
The Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper sports department has "wheels up" at 5 p.m. when we take flight to Fergus Falls high school. I've had a long day of construction (at the newspaper office), a trip to Berg's Barn by Sauk Centre with my wife plus a Jaguar Pride rally at the elementary school this afternoon. More to come! ALSO! Tonight's match will be on Smooth Magic 107 FM of Glenwood...107.1 FM on your radio dial, and they also stream online at https://www.kmgk1071.com.
**Remember what I posted a few days ago, that the Knights have an inherent advantage on this floor at Fergus Falls from playing there during a tournament over the MEA weekend. It will be interesting to see how each team settles into the atmosphere. It's going to be quite a night!!
**Here's the volleyball team taking court for the Paynesville match a couple weeks ago...
Time to continue packing up! There's a lot at stake with this trip north, which also includes tomorrow's football game in Fargo. You can catch a new batch of web articles posted to the newspaper's website by clicking over there: http://www.bonanzavalleyvoice.com. One of the three articles features our volleyball team and has a video clip recorded in game one against Paynesville Area on October 17. REMEMBER! The West Central Area Knights are going to be tough as nails tonight. I see it coming, and so do our Jaguars. WE ARE READY!!! Let's GO!!!
Updates to come later tonight on THIS blog post...so please share the link to this post online and others can follow along via this blog if they can't listen to it or attend in person!
****Underwood won the opening match tonight by a 3-0 sweep against upstart Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.
