Season opener and CMC opener wins! (VIDEO)
Here's video from the end of tonight's boys' basketball opener:
The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team won their season opener tonight by a 63-40 score against visiting Ashby. It was also an important sub-section win.
Next: the Jaguars host Class 2A Osakis on Thursday in another non-conference game. Ashby falls to 0-2 overall; they lost 55-53 at Lake Park-Audubon last Friday in their season opener.
At Royalton, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team has a slim 42-40 lead with about 12 minutes to go in the second half.
Final score: B-B-E 61, Royalton 58! What a sweet win! The Jaguars are 3-0 going into Friday's home opener against a tough Central Minnesota Christian Bluejays squad. They are 2-2 overall after winning against neighboring and conference rival MACCRAY in Clara City 58-47 last night. B-B-E has a big Section 5A game at Upsala next Tuesday.
Royalton, a team with aspirations this year with a strong nucleus of players returning from last year's 17-11 squad, falls to 0-4 overall. Kylie Waytashek returns as a 1,000-point scorer who achieved that mark on January 16 last winter at Paynesville Area.
More to come on Wednesday evening.
