Two home events tonight (VIDEO)

We have two home events tonight at both schools. In the high school's gym, the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team opens defense of their Section 5A championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023 with the opening rounds of the section tournament. They are ranked No. 2 in Section 5A behind Canby, who defeated the Jaguars 38-29 on January 26 in Canby. The Jaguars are 18-2 in duals this season, while the Lancers are 10-3.

Tonight's wrestling action begins at B-B-E high school at 6 p.m. with a preliminary round match featuring No. 7-seeded Benson taking on No. 10-seeded Ortonville. The winner of that match will face our Jaguars on the same mat at about 7:30 p.m.

At B-B-E elementary tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team hosts state-ranked Eden Valley-Watkins. The Eagles (19-3) lead the Central Minnesota Conference with a 10-0 record. Paynesville Area is a half game out at 10-1 (17-5 overall). The Jaguars are 13-7 overall and 6-4 in the CMC and within striking range of third place. **Tonight's boys' basketball game will be aired on 106.5 FM The Train of Norway Lake-Sunburg. Jocelyn Dickhoff was a member of the B-B-E Class of 2024 and had completed first grade at B-B-E elementary school before she died on July 6, 2013.

**In the wrestling quarterfinals, the Jaguars have a 54 to 15 lead with just one match (285) remaining against Benson.  They advance to play again at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Section 5A semifinals at Minneota.
