Jaguars Boys Basketball Goes Down to the Wire at Kimball-- Stung by Last-Second Three-Pointer from 30-Feet by the Cubs

The Jaguars boys basketball team (5-6 overall, 0-3 CMC) were stung by a last-second three-point shot from 30-feet out on an inbounds play with 2.3 seconds left in regulation time. The Jaguars had come from behind to force a tie game in the final minute with a 4-for-4 performance at the free throw line by junior guard Michael Rodgers.

It will be a tough weekend for the Jaguars to ponder this one. They played hard the entire game in this typically-physical Central Minnesota Conference game, but a win was not in the cards.

They play next at Holdingford next Thursday night. The Huskers are 1-11 overall, and they fell tonight in a home game against Eden Valley-Watkins (5-4, 2-1 CMC).

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted won an overtime thriller on their home floor against visiting Pierz 58-56. Maple Lake played a solid game against Rockford, though they became the 12th team of the season to lose to the state-ranked Rockets, losing 55-46.

The Jaguars wrestling team had a strong showing at the NL-S Tournament tonight.
Final results are as follows, with the Jaguars taking 5th place.

New London-Spicer 254.0,
Dassel-Cokato 203.0
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 184.5
Benson 89.0
B-B-E 88.0
Kimball Area 87.0
Eden Valley-Watkins 75.0
Rocori 74.0
