Jaguars Boys Basketball Buries Holdingford 62-33, Jaguars Girls Basketball Wins at Osakis 59-45 for 8th Straight Win

Both basketball squads won tonight in home-and-away action by impressive fashion, with the girls winning at Osakis (15-7) and the boys defeating Holdingford (2-17) at the high school. The Osakis Silverstreaks are the 2007-2008 Prairie Conference Champions, 12-0 in that league. They'd be at best a .500 team in the Central Minnesota Conference. Tonight's game was their final home game of the season. Our girls basketball team has now won eight games in a row, and they have won 13 of their past 17 games. I'm almost certain, but I will double-check, that no previous B-B-E girls basketball team has had an 8-0 streak during their season. What our girls team is doing this season is very impressive. They currently are 9-3 in the Central Minnesota Conference in a tie for second place with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The Jaguars host the Lakers next Tuesday night.

Both squads have winning records, with the boys at 10-9 and the girls at 16-7. The last time both squads had winning records during the middle-to-latter part of the basketball season was in 1997-1998.

An interesting boys basketball score= Maple Lake 66, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 51. The Jaguars lost close battles with both of those teams. Maple Lake (15-4) is having one of the best boys basketball seasons in their school history, and our Jaguars travel to their house next Thursday, February 21. All four of their losses have come in CMC action.
