Jaguars Boys Basketball Wins Thrilling Come-From-Behind Game at Pierz in CMC Action... Senior Wrestler Austin Kampsen Wins 100th Match of His Career

Celebrating the win...

On Friday night, the Jaguars boys basketball team squared their record at 7-7 with a dramatic 64-60 win at Pierz, their first such road win since 2005. They moved to 2-4 in the Central Minnesota Conference.

Pierz is 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the CMC.

The Jaguars' comeback was fueled in the final minutes of the second half with a huge 22-2 run that turned a 54-38 deficit into a 60-56 lead. The Pioneers tied the game at 60-all before a 4-of-4 performance at the free throw line from Jared McCleary and Jordan Beier put the Jaguars ahead in the final minute.

The boys basketball team travels to Benson (7-7) on Monday night for a non-conference game against the Roger Lindahl-led Braves team. They host Maple Lake (11-4) in a key Central Minnesota Conference game next Thursday night at the high school.

The Jaguars girls basketball team earned their 11th win of the season (11-7 overall) on the road at Upsala on Friday, 68-37. The Cardinals fell to 8-11 overall, and they are tied for second place in the Prairie Conference at 7-3 with Browerville.

I am unable to post advertising, because my laptop died. (Yes, it is indeed dead) Once I retrieve my files from that hard drive, I will be back in business with posting local advertising on this site, although it will be much more difficult working without a laptop. It's anyone's guess when I'll be getting a new one.

Enjoy the mild weekend!
