Friday night - Jaguars boys basketball lead 33-23 with 12:00 left at Sauk Centre, *Jaguars girls are tied with Eden Valley 35-35 with under 7:00 left!

Update at 9:00pm...**The Jaguars girls basketball team has a 40-37 lead with 35 seconds left in regulation at state-ranked Eden Valley-Watkins. They took advantage of a transition opportunity when Raeann Sorenson bolted downcourt and scored a layup to take the 40-37 lead.

Then with 18 seconds left, Hannah Linz went downcourt for the host Eagles and was fouled. She'll be getting 2 free throws to try to cut into the Jaguars' lead.

The game went almost 2 minutes without either team scoring. Then the Jaguars went up 38-37, then Raeann hit her bucket to make it 40-37.

Update at 8:30pm...The Jaguars have a 10-point lead in a very low-scoring affair at Sauk Centre, ahead 33-23 with just over 12:00 left in regulation.

At 8:33 I found out...New London-Spicer's boys basketball team leads Morris Area 30-25 at halftime, in a game being held in Morris tonight.

At 8:50 tonight...**Tie game at Eden Valley-Watkins 35-35 with 6:58 left in regulation play, between the host Eagles girls basketball team and the Jaguars girls basketball team. I heard that Emily Roelike got banged up and had been sitting out for a spell, freshmen Raeann Sorenson came in to take her spot and is doing a great job in this huge, huge game. Shannon Gruber has been guarding star Eagles guard Hannah Linz and has been doing an excellent defensive job.

Earlier tonight...

It's shortly after 6pm, and I'm listening to Minnewaska vs. Osakis boys basketball on the internet, via Smooth Magic 107 FM's online broadcast by Dave McClurg.

Minnewaska is whipping Osakis in the first half of play.

The Lakers went on a 25-0 run over an eight-minute span to lead 37-10, before Osakis finally scored to get off of the "10" mark on the scoreboard. Under three minutes are left before halftime.

The Lakers own a 45-17 lead at halftime. Update at 7:30...The Lakers defeated the Silverstreaks 85-61. I will post more below when I get more information on the other games tonight.

In the girls basketball game between NL-S and Minnewaska, the visiting Wildcats have an early lead, ahead 19-7 halfways through the first half of play.

I've also got contacts at the Morris Area High School (boys game vs. New London-Spicer) as well as in Sauk Centre.
