Section 5A wrestling update... Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City pounds Browerville/Eagle Valley in the championship, rolls into state with 37-20 win

The Falcons sealed the state berth after the 171 match.

A-C-GC went 0-2 in the 2008 Minnesota Class A wrestling tournament, losing two close matches. In 2007, they were Class A state champions. They won the Section 5A title in 2004, as well as every year since then. This is their 6th straight "state" trip.

In boys basketball action on Saturday night, the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers prevailed over Pierz on Saturday in a 60-51 win over the Pioneers. The Lakers hold onto the top spot in the CMC with the win. Pierz, who had only lost to B-B-E in Central Minnesota Conference action thus far, could have forced a three-way tie for first place with a win over HL-W-W.

Pierz falls to 7-3 in the CMC and 14-6 overall. HL-W-W is 15-5 overall and 10-1 in the CMC. The Jaguars are 9-2, good for second place right now.
