Friday Night Lights Part VII: EV-W shuts out the Jaguars - Coach Moscho will be on Smooth Magic 107 on Saturday morning

The Jaguars are in pursuit of an Eagles' ball carrier in this shot from the opening minutes of the third quarter tonight.

The final score was 49-0, which was the score at halftime. The Jaguars football team will come back from this game, as a win in Week 8 and then more in the playoffs will erase this from their memory. It was nice to see the JV squad get quite a bit of time in the second half with no question what the game's outcome would be. Coach Moscho and his gang have a talented crew coming up through the ranks.

The Jaguars fumbled their first three possessions, and each time the Eagles made them pay with touchdown drives. Turnovers, plus the Eagles' ability to stop the run, are what led to the big loss.

The Jaguars (1-6, 0-5 CMC) regroup for a trip to Kimball next Wednesday night. It will be the final game of the regular season, and a must-win situation for the Jaguars if they want to hold onto a top-three playoff seed in Section 4A. Kimball lost tonight 32-0 to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

The current top seed in Section 4A, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, lost on their Homecoming night in Grove City to neighboring and conference rival BOLD. Final score: Warriors 33, Falcons 15.
