Senior Grant Bell is state-bound in cross country!

Grant Bell approaches the finish line at the Little Crow Country Club in New London, taking fifth place out of 108 runners.

Grant Bell advanced to the state cross country meet after an outstanding performance in today's Section 6A meet in New London. Grant finished in fifth place with a time of 17:29.22, becoming the first boys' cross country runner at B-B-E to advance to the state tournament.


The 2010 Class A state cross country meet will be held on Saturday, November 6, at St.Olaf College in Northfield, MN. The boys' race, which lasts 5,000 meters, begins at 10:00am. (Girls run at 11am) An awards ceremony will take place approximately 30 minutes after the final race, around 11:30am.

Bell's fellow Jaguars cross country team members Jared Sorenson and Daniel Rooney finished 75th and 76th with times of 20:19.61 and 20.20.23, respectively.

The first loop is near completed, during the boys race of the Section 6A cross country meet. Near the front of the pack is Grant, while Jared and Daniel are seen running through about 40 seconds into the clip.

The Jaguars volleyball team will host #5-seed Kimball Area tomorrow night (Friday) in the sub-section quarterfinals at 7:00pm. The Cubs improved to 11-12 overall after prevailing tonight in a five-game marathon in Eden Valley over their Highway 55 neighbors. Game five was won by the Cubs 15-12.


EV-W finished its season 11-13 overall.

EV-W lost a 3-2 match to Kimball during a Central Minnesota Conference match Oct. 7, but managed to beat the Cubs 2-1 during the Kimball Invitational on Oct. 9.

Breane Meierhofer had 16 kills to lead the Cubs. Kimball was also led by juniors Rachel Arnold, who had 50 set assists, and Steph Konz, who added 11 kills.
