Breaking news

Fans in Jaguar Country: spread the word, the boys' basketball sub-section semifinals and championship games will be in Little Falls and not Pierz. Just like that, the familiarity factor shifts in Upsala's favor, as the Cardinals are pretty familiar with playing in that gymnasium. The huge upside, of course, is that the capacity of the playoff venue goes from 980 to closer to 3,000.

The switch was made earlier this morning by Region 6A administrators. It applies to the March 1 games (semifinals) and the March 4 game (championship). I am unaware at this point if the girls' basketball playoffs will follow the same route.

And while I've got your attention, other breaking news from Tuesday night is that the B-B-E school board voted 7-0 to reapply for the four-day week model with the Minnesota Department of Education. The application will be submitted Wednesday morning.
