Hats off to the Pierz wrestling team, as they won the Section 7A title and will advance to the Class A state tournament. The Pioneers, 25-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, were 6-0 in the Central Minnesota Conference to repeat as champions. Pierz, the number one seed, beat #3-seeded Blackduck/Cass Lake-Bena 56-15 in the championship match. Holdingford, seeded 5th, clipped 4th-seeded Royalton/Upsala 38-37 at Royalton in the section quarterfinals before getting thumped 67-10 by Pierz in the semis.
