Updates from HLWW

With eight minutes left in the first half, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted has a 13-11 lead over the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team.

Halftime: HLWW 30, B-B-E 25. Early in the first half, senior Evan Wiener eclipsed the 1,000 points mark in his career.

Final: HLWW 66, B-B-E 49. With the loss, the Jaguars (11-9, 5-4) fall to fourth place in the CMC, while HLWW (10-10, 7-3) pulls into a first-place tie with Eden Valley-Watkins. In third place is Maple Lake, who has a CMC record of 7-4. Technically, the Jaguars are just a half-game out of third place.

Time to shift attention to B-B-E robotics for the afternoon.

*Taking the night off. I missed the predator hunt in Swift Falls, but I did learn that they had 73 hunters for a great turnout! I hope to write more about that i next week's newspaper.
