So there's this hole that I dug! (WRESTLING update**)
Oh, what a hole I dug! In the excitement that was the evening of Thursday, January 26, I managed to shoot over 500 pictures at the girls' basketball game with Holdingford.
Why so many?
Well, for starters I am getting more comfortable with my brand new Nikon D750 camera that has been working out spectactularly since I first got it to work how I expect it to on January 19 with the home dance competition. The camera popped on Thursday night, and it was an extra special night on top of it being a conference championship-level varsity game as the Class of 2031 girls' basketball team made their public debut with an intrasquad halftime scrimmage. They have 16 girls on their roster, one of them being my third grade daughter. On Saturday they hosted Sauk Centre (who brought 17 girls) and did very well against a hot-shooting Mainstreeters team. Anyway my point being: there's a lot of photos to comb through, delete the sub-par ones and then get the remaining pictures uploaded and backed up!
Here's footage from the end of last night's boys' basketball game:
I just saw tonight that Browerville had defeated Osakis back in January to take control of the Prairie Conference. That is one of just four losses that Osakis has this year.
**Announcement, breaking wrestling news! early Monday morning (February 6), it was announced that Tuesday night's Parents Night for the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team is now a dual meet and not a triangular in Belgrade. Minnewaska Area was forced to exit the tri due to too many injuries sustained on Saturday this weekend at the West Central Conference/Central Minnesota Conference crossover tournament. That is unfortunate and we wish and hope and pray for the best for the Lakers wrestling team as playoffs loom large next week. SPREAD the word! The action on Tuesday this week begins at 6 p.m. against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville. This dual meet will begin with a few JV matches at that time. Prior to 6 p.m., the Parents Night celebration will take place.
This snuck by me and I didn't even know it: Kristina Anderson, head coach of our girls' basketball program since the 2012-2013 season, earned her 200th career win when the Jaguars defeated Sauk Centre on January 27. That is awesome! Her first two seasons had 8-19 and 14-15 overall records, respectively. The Jaguars advanced to the sub-section finals in her second year, and they have repeated that feat every season since!! That is truly remarkable!!!
More to come.
