Tuesday area fastpitch/baseball/golf results

First off, good luck today to the Jaguars track and field teams, who will compete in the Section 5A meet at St.John's University today. Heidi Lensing of the girls squad will compete, with a handful of boys squad members will be there as well. It begins at 10:30am at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.

Section 5A Final Four round:
Maple Lake 11, Barnum 3 (winner's bracket final)
From the St.Cloud Times: Ashley Kempenich went all seven innings for the Irish, struck out 12 and allowed five hits to pick up the win as Maple Lake defeated Barnum in the Section 5A playoffs at Whitney Field. Brooke Decker was 3-for-3 and Chelsea Rachel was 3-for-4 with a home run. Barnum went on to beat Osakis 11-7 in the loser bracket final and will face Maple Lake again at 5 p.m. Thursday at Whitney. It will be the Section 5A championship series, where Maple Lake only needs one win to advance to state for the second straight year.
