Corey Tonn earns medalist honors at Hollydale Golf Course, leads Jaguars' boys golf to first place finish
Wearing outfits more suitable for the fall season has been the norm lately for area athletes, as Minnesota's spring has gotten downright cold at times. Here, Corey Tonn winds up for a very tricky shot across the Chippewa River at the Benson Invitational on May 1.
Jaguars' boys golfer senior Corey Tonn shot a 40 to earn medalist honors and help his team finish first at the fifth Central Minnesota Conference meet of the season on Friday at the Hollydale Golf Course in Plymouth. Rockford hosts their golf meets there.
The win helped push the Jaguars into second place in the CMC standings, with two meets remaining. They trail first-place Pierz by an 896-863 stroke margin.
Team scoring at the Rockford-hosted CMC meet: (1) B-B-E 178 (2) Pierz 179 (3) Maple Lake 184 (4) Rockford 187 (5) Osakis 189 (6) Kimball/Eden Valley-Watkins 190 (7) Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 199.
