Patrick Rooney advances to third place match at state!

Unfazed by the bright lights of the Xcel Energy Center, B-B-E's Patrick Rooney won all his consolation matches today in the 170-pound division of the Class A state individual tournament. His terrific performances earned him a shot at getting third place in tonight's championship round at Xcel.
Rooney becomes the first B-B-E wrestler to get in the "final four" since 1990, when Kermit Hanson earned second place at state. In 1989, then-senior Brendan Bogart won a state wrestling championship for the B-B-E Jaguars during the first year of the pairing of Brooten and Belgrade-Elrosa athletics.

Rooney, Hanson and Bogart are the only B-B-E wrestlers to make it to the top four at state.

This is terribly exciting news for B-B-E schools!
