I can't describe how exciting this news is. I received word on it through a text message, and honestly I did not believe it at first...thought they were joking with me. I had to go right to Mr. Gossen to find out myself. Once it was confirmed by him, I headed out the office door, and right outside in the hallway I met one of the preschool classes that has my daughter. So of course she saw me, ran over to me and convinced me to go with her back to class during project time. How could I say no to that? I only had some of the biggest news I've heard in ages that had to get announced ASAP to the world.

Can't say no to her, though, even though I know it's not a bad thing to deliver tough love sometimes! Couldn't do it today.

Back to Alexandria...this is terribly exciting to share, this coming from Smooth Magic 107 FM's sports broadcaster D-Mac:
Having worked in Alexandria previously (and even during my time at KMGK), I've covered dozens of games in the Jefferson High School gym.  I had the honor of broadcasting the final regular season game in the JHS gym last Friday, when Alexandria's Girls' Basketball team defeated Sartell.  The Cardinals' playoff game with Detroit Lakes last night was the final Alexandria sporting event in the old gym. Friday night's BBE-Browerville game will supplant last night's game as the final High School sporting event of any kind in that gymnasium, which opened in 1958.  The venue has previously served as a host of several High School Basketball District Tournament games (old District 22 of Region 6A), when the sport had two classes.  It's a neat place to host a late-season event like this.  I'm glad that the powes-that-be were able to switch the location for the Section Championship Game.
