New COVID number (May 20 report) is 11

A little late on this weekly report...this is my first major delay in reporting this since last fall! Yikes. I have just been intensely super busy, and I will admit...the garden is a big excuse for that! Our family garden is soon approaching 30 percent planted.

In the May 20 report released by the Minnesota Department of Health, the zip code weekly COVID-19 case counts increased by 11 for the zip code area of Belgrade, Brooten and Elrosa. This is our biggest increase since the April 15, 2021 report...and that week the number was 25. That April 15 number represents what I'd call the "peak" of our local spring surge.

Here's the break down of new cases for the reporting period of May 13 to 19:
Brooten - 6
Belgrade - 4
Elrosa - 1

As they say: all good things must come to an end! The incredible streak of NO covid cases reported in Elrosa dating back to mid-December 2020 has ended. Their May 20 report showed an increase of one COVID-19 case. The population of Elrosa is now 210, by the way, which I found to be pretty gosh darn exciting! Their 2020 cencus number showed an increase from 197 to 210. And with the May 20 MDH report, their cumulative COVID-19 case count since January 2020 is now 18 cases.

In order, by zip code, are other area weekly increases:
