Step II: girls' basketball drubs Tigers
The B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team won big for the second straight time in the playoffs. At Wadena-Deer Creek high school tonight, the Jaguars defeated No. 4-seeded Pine River-Backus in a defensive clinic by a 58-41 score. PR-B was held to 12 points below their scoring average and finishes the year 13-13 overall. Next: the Jaguars (18-9) travel back to WD-C high school in Wadena for the Sub-Section 5A-West championship game on Wednesday, March 9 with tip-off coming at 7 p.m. against either Browerville or Nevis. This will be B-B-E's ninth straight appearance in a sub-section championship game.
UPDATE: and bring on the Nevis Tigers! That's who we'll play on Wednesday. They are 17-8 overall and went 10-4 (second) in the Northwoods-South Conference behind champion Cass Lake-Bena.
