Volleyball wins huge section thriller at Parkers Prairie

The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team earned huge momentum tonight in a tough road match at Parkers Prairie. After going down 2-1 in sets, the Jaguars came alive and won game four 25-13 and then game five 15-12.

B-B-E's strong 93 percent serving with 11 aces were big factors in the win. Three Jaguars had double digit kills: Kacey Fischer (25), Macey Roering (11) and Teagan Dingmann (10).

Next for the Jaguars (5-4 overall) is a home Central Minnesota Conference match on Thursday this week against Holdingford (1-2, 0-1).

I'm excited to give a huge SHOUT OUT to the B-B-E Jaguars JV football team for coming out as victors today by a 22-18 score against West Central Area. Their JV season opener today in Belgrade was an epic battle from start to finish. The Jaguars trailed 18-6 with under 10 minutes to go in the game before mounting a thrilling comeback. I don't have much for notes, but I heard that an interception with a big return by Cash Lehner was a factor in the win.

Area volleyball scores on September 8:
New London-Spicer 3, Wabasso 1
Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 3, Ashby 0
Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 3, Milbank SD 0
Hancock 3, Dawson-Boyd 0

Jaguars Fastpitch is battling with Osakis, holding a narrow 6-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh with the Silverstreaks at bat

The Jaguars fastpitch team is in the midst of a tough battle at Osakis in their season opener.

They held a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning, then tacked on another run with Raeann Sorenson's RBI-single that brought in Anna Marthaler in the top of the fifth.

The Silverstreaks tied it at 5-5 in the bottom of the fifth. The Jaguars went up 6-5 in the seventh inning with a run scored by Sorenson.

**Update at 6:20...the Silverstreaks, who entered the game 3-0 on the season, tied the game at 6-6 to force an extra inning.

A scene from the bottom of the fifth inning, with Michelle Sanders pitching for the Jaguars.

Osakis and B-B-E have battled it out in some great fastpitch games in recent years, with the Jaguars having the upper hand in the 2007 and 2008 playoffs. Osakis is now 2-0 in their last two meetings with B-B-E, having won the 2009 season opener 5-1.
