The Saints lost an early 1-0 lead to fall behind 4-1. That score stood going into the 9th inning.

Aided by the great pitching of closer Ethan Vogt, the Saints' defense held the Martins in check in the top of the ninth inning, holding hope for a late rally.

With one out and one more run scored in the bottom of the ninth, Matt Middendorf launched a two-RBI single to tie the game at 4-all. Pat Illies was walked intentionally, bringing Steve Mueller to the plate. He proceeded to crack out an RBI-single down the third baseline on an 0-2 count pitch, sending Dustin Breitbach home for the game-winning run.

Final score: Elrosa 5, St.Martin 4, regular innings.

The win snaps a very painful 3-game losing streak for the Saints, as they head into summer for the final six weeks of the regular season.
