Idiots - Kids will be kids, I guess (although the ones in question were 18)

"8 consumption tickets issued to Melrose Area High School seniors"
From the Melrose Beacon, Saturday May 23rd issue

Eight Melrose High School seniors were issued alcohol consumption related tickets following a party on Wednesday, May 13 starting at 9:13 p.m.

A Stearns County Sheriff's Deputy made a routine traffic stop in the area of Co. Rd. 13 in Grove Twp., south of Melrose, which eventually resulted in the arrest of seven students for minor consumption, and one 18-year-old for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). The first stop was for an 18-year-old Freeport boy.

The Melrose Police Department was called in on an agency assist at the juvenile party, which was being held at a rural residence about a mile south of Melrose.

The Stearns Sheriff's office estimated between 60 and 70 teenagers were at the party. Most of them "ran out the back of the barn" when the officers arrived.

The Sheriff's Department reported there were no kegs, but one car was found to have four 12-packs of beer.

Officials at Melrose Area High School said the students will be dealt with according to the school's alcohol policies already in place.

The senior class members had been on their Senior Class Trip earlier in the day.
