This has been advertised in recent newspaper issues...they have more tickets to sell!! You can Venmo them payments and get yours ordered! The Belgrade Commercial Club is a major partner and supporter of our school activities.

Belgrade Commercial Club Purse Bingo!

Purse Bingo is back again this fall! Join the Belgrade Commercial Club on Friday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Belgrade VFW! Doors open at 6 o’clock. The cost to play is $40.00. Please sign-up and pay in advance by stopping by Kensington Bank or Magnifi Financial. You can also send a venmo payment to their Venmo account @belcommclub. Please put your full name and purse bingo as the subject. Lastly, you can contact a Commercial Club member or private message them on Facebook. You must be signed-up to guarantee your seat. Walk-ins are welcome if seats are available. Don’t forget your daubers! They look forward to spending a fun ladies night out with all of you!

The Belgrade Commercial Club is making a big push to sell more Purse Bingo tickets for their upcoming fundraiser. It has been advertised on the back page of the last two Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper issues. You can read more here: https://bit.ly/3y8X38d. Included is a video from February 2020, which seems like a long, long time ago.

Rest in the Lord

If you spend any amount of time, even just a little time, watching the news on TV or on the radio, you'll get the sense that we are living in troubled times. (Hence, why I try very hard not to consume that fear-based messaging.)

A good friend of mine, who happens to be a 1955 Brooten high school graduate, gave me re-assuring advice today: "You need to rest...not the sitting-on-a-couch type of rest...but you need to rest in the Lord." She gave me a big stack of old photographs from the first half of the 20th century, almost all taken in and near Brooten. One of them was a photo of the 1954-1955 Brooten Buccaneers boys' basketball team. It's an incredible photo! One of the stars of that team, Marlin Engen, was a great-grandfather to Wyatt Engen, a current member of the B-B-E football and wrestling team.

We are in Day 3 of the new school year at B-B-E. Let's continue celebrating our open schools and open communities!

The Belgrade Commercial Club is excited to announce their upcoming Designer Bag Purse Bingo night on Friday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Belgrade V.F.W. The cost is $15 in advance to reserve your seat and then $15 at the door for your bingo packet. Everyone is encouraged to sign up in advance at Kensington Bank in Belgrade, Central Minnesota Credit Union in Belgrade or by contacting a Commercial Club member.

On another note...
I sent this message to one of the Belgrade Commercial Club organizers, who had a big hand in putting together their Designer Purse Bingo night this past Friday.

"I'm thrilled for your purse bingo night, looked like everyone there had a great time. That's why we do what we do and it all adds up to making the town a better place to work and live."

There will be light coverage of the event in this week's Voice (which will be a jam-packed issue)

The Brooten Fire Relief Association will hold a Designer Purse Bingo night on March 1 at the KaDe Shack. You can read more about that on page one of last week's Voice.

Kids get early Christmas

There were a lot of happy children who enjoyed a stop at the Belgrade Municipal Hall tonight.

I want to commend the Belgrade Commercial Club for sponsoring this wonderful event. Attendance has always been overwhelming in the years I've gone to it.

Bob Mathison did an outstanding job running the show during what felt like a circus at times because of the heavy turnout. And that's a good thing!

I'll be taking most of Saturday "off" for some R and R! It's been a hectic week.
