Today is prom day in Jaguar Country (VIDEOS*)

The grand march begins at 3:30 p.m. at the high school. I'm in a mad dash to get ready for that!

Here's the link to read the obituary for Eric Segaar, age 46, who passed away from injuries suffered in a farm accident in North Fork Township on Tuesday, April 29. At the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper website: https://shorturl.at/5XoF3.

Let's pray for the safety of all children and adults who are involved with B-B-E's prom today and tonight.

Here's a short video recorded today at the very end of grand march and afterwards:

Update on Saturday night: the grand march lasted 70 minutes! It was far and away the longest grand march held in at least 15 years. The outdoor conditions were the best in at least 20 years! Picture perfect weather.

And the prom dance had great attendance. All families involved should be proud!

Here's a glimpse of the dance that shows how much fun they were having:

Sunday is a big, big day of outdoor work! The temperatures are finally climbing into the upper 70s! Also, the Elrosa Saints host Greenwald on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in a division contest

B-B-E high school hosts prom grand march (VIDEO)

The sun came out at just the right time this afternoon, and we had a marvelous prom grand march in Jaguar Country! The temperature at the conclusion of the grand march was 62 degrees! Even better: B-B-E high school hosted the most couples for the grand march since 2019.

Here's a video recorded at the high school after the grand march was held:

Two more events to come for prom: the ever-popular dance, and then post-prom!

Sunday will be dedicated to gardening and outdoor activities. We are expecting full sunshine and highs in the upper 60s. Our family garden could definitely use some more heat. Also, I will be interviewing a special retired farmer from the Belgrade area. He and his late wife raised some of the toughest Belgrade Redmen female athletes in the 1970s and 1980s.

Also! The annual Scrub Run in Glenwood, in support of staff of Glacial Ridge Health System employees, is coming on Saturday, June 8 along Lake Minnewaska. Additional details can be found here: https://glacialridge.org/event/scrub-run-2024 ...and also in upcoming newspaper issues.

And here's a web article highlighting the upcoming Syttende Mai celebration hosted at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake in conjunction with the Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association...click here: https://shorturl.at/pABFK. This was also published on page four of last week's newspaper.

(VIDEO) Prom Grand March is wonderful

We had a truly wonderful grand march for B-B-E's 2021 Prom this afternoon! I didn't count the couples, but the grand march lasted almost an hour, and it was great! It was a little on the cool side (high 40s), but we are Minnesotans, and the temperature wasn't an issue.

*Here's a video clip taken early in the grand march:

More to come. Please pray for good times as well as safety over all of our kids in Jaguar Country tonight!

B-B-E Prom 2020

More "B-B-E Grand March 2020" - but this is more prom than most schools have been able to get, so we are going to be grateful for the opportunity and thrilled that school staff made this possible!

Here's an iMovie with clips of three couples.

The video is rough and shaky, especially when I was shooting with my big digital camera. But it works, and it's something to remember. This isn't an environment where it's easy or prudent to operate with a ton of equipment. Jump in, jump out - get it done and go home.

Now we'll see how many prom pages I'll manage to publish next week. The newspaper has looked rough lately. I hope next week's is not that way.

More to come.

Today is the annual Prom for the 11th and 12th grade students at B-B-E plus guests...information on this year's Prom was published on page 7 in this week's Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper, as well as page 7 of the April 19 issue of the Voice! I hope you are a subscriber.

*Update: B-B-E's prom was GREAT! The weather was simply magnificent! You can read more about it and see scores of photos in the upcoming May 3 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.

Terrific Grand March!

Kinlee Swanson and Jordan Wosmek in a James Bond pose.

Here's a video clip lasting nearly four minutes from the final part of grand march today:

That's a good-looking bunch of Jaguar wrestlers! Josey, you missed out on the photo!
Katelyn Heinze and Austin Trustheim.

It couldn't have been more perfect. A day after it rained and rained and rained (very needed rain), the B-B-E Prom Grand March was held under sunny skies, hardly a bit of wind and temperatures hovering around 55 degrees. Yeah, a bit on the chilly side, but we had no complaints in Jaguar Country! Besides, that's what the heater's for - whether prom couples showed up in trucks, cars, semi tractors or farm tractors!
