Results in the Class 1A state quarterfinals!!

Canon Swanson lost a close battle by a 5-3 decision in his 113-pound quarterfinal match.

At 126, Tyler Bents defeated a state-ranked Deer River wrestler by a 6-3 decision! Bents trailed 2-0 early in the first period but wrestled great the rest of the way.

At 145, Adam Jaeger got off to a fantastic start with an early takedown with two back points. He won an 11-4 decision to advance to the state semifinals for the first time in his career.

Dairy days!

The local banks in Belgrade and Brooten are celebrating June Dairy month while honoring our area dairy farmers throughout the Bonanza Valley.

Today at North American State Bank in Belgrade, Stearns County Dairy Princesses Kayla Herkenhoff and Courtney Klaphake are serving dilly bars from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tomorrow, Friday, June 17, NASB in Elrosa will serve dilly bars all day for their regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays).

And in Brooten, Bonanza Valley State Bank will honor dairy farmers on Friday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while serving ice cream and milk to the public.

We are very fortunate in the Bonanza Valley to have our locally-owned banks who know firsthand how important the dairy industry is to our area.

March is Food Shelf month

Shown is the shopping cart at North American State Bank in Belgrade where the public can donate and drop off food items for the B-B-E Area Food Shelf.

North American State Bank is collecting food and money for the B-B-E Area Food Shelf through March 25 during Food Shelf Month. A little "friendly competition" is underway between the NASB-Belgrade branch and the NASB-Elrosa branch on who can raise the most funds and food donations in this time. Do your part to help out!

Local bank branches' Christmas open house information

Our local banks are an extremely important part of our B-B-E community. This time of year I hope you are able to take a moment to relax in the warm atmosphere of the banks' Christmas/Holiday open house celebrations. I am hopeful to hit all four of our local locations between this week and next week!

Every day this week, North American State Bank is having a celebration in the Belgrade branch, and on Friday they will have an open house in Elrosa. (See above)

The Central Minnesota Credit Union is having a Christmas/Holiday open house on Friday, Dec. 19 at their Belgrade branch. Also that Friday (12-19-14), Bonanza Valley State Bank is having a Christmas/Holiday open house as well. Advertising for the CMCU and BVSB open houses will be posted next week.

Homecoming tailgate party on Friday

I received word this morning that the Homecoming Tailgating Party sponsored by North American State Bank will be held in the ag/shop room at the high school. So please, by all means, make plans to come in and show your support!

He is without a doubt one of the friendliest and warmest bankers I've ever known. He should be known more than just a banker and part of the North American State Bank family.
