(VIDEO) Powder Puff Homecoming football

Here's video from the final minutes of the first quarter today in the B-B-E Homecoming Powder Puff flag football game. This is an annual event with members of the junior and senior grades battling it out on the gridiron.

It was a remarkable game that included three quarters of action. The kids had a blast, and that's exactly what you want to see in this type of spirited rivalry amongst a group of peers who get along very, very well!

Lots to digest and process tonight for video, photos, etc! It was a truly memorable, exciting and fulfilling day in Jaguar Country.

*Here's some video from the pre-game rules meeting with Coach Chris Anderson, who was one of many staff members who oversaw today's Homecoming Powder Puff flag football game:

*Also, don't forget! Thursday night the B-B-E Jaguars girls' tennis team opens up the Section 5A team playoffs at Litchfield in the quarterfinal round. On the home front, it is Dig Pink Night for our state-ranked B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team. The match will be aired on Smooth Magic 107 FM of Glenwood. (Thanks, Brady!)

Powder Puff flag football

Coach Gilbert gives instructions to the senior players during the Powder Puff football game.
Senior Nicole Wesbur and Megan Carroll celebrate a touchdown.

The senior class won the annual Powder Puff flag football game this afternoon. Here's some brief coverage of the game at the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper website: http://www.bonanzavalleyvoice.com/story/2017/09/07/bbe/b-b-e-homecoming-powder-puff-football/520.html

Here's a glimpse on the field and stadium at the start of the game:

...and below is another video clip from one of the Powder Puff football game's quarter breaks - it was likely halftime, although I am not 100% sure of that:

...and here's a lengthy clip from the Color FUND Run:

So far, a terrific week of Homecoming in Jaguar Country!

I found this late Wednesday night at the West Central Tribune website, and I wanted to share it here: http://www.wctrib.com/opinion/4334051-keillor-gentle-people-shall-prevail.

Let's hear it for the nice people! May we all strive to be nicer to those around us every day. Myself included!!! As anyone would guess, I know the B-B-E Class of 2018 very well. I have seen them grow up from elementary school to being on the verge of adulthood. I can't say enough how nice they are. Top to bottom, side to side, every last one of them. They are good people. Their parents should be very proud.

(Videos) B-B-E Powder Puff Homecoming football game

The seniors (coaches, players) gather at the end zone.
The juniors confer after the third quarter ended with Coach Jacob Weller giving instructions.

After the senior girls led 9-2 at halftime, they survived a spirited and valiant comeback effort by the junior girls to win the 2015 B-B-E Homecoming Powder Puff football game by a 13-8 score. At the start of the fourth quarter, the juniors narrowed the gap to a 9-7 deficit.

Here's two videos, one showing the pregame and start of the game, and then the post-game celebration by the seniors. I was impressed by the effort of both teams!

And the post-game celebrating:

Two days of Homecoming are in the book. Two more to go!

Seniors take Powder Puff game!

QB Jamie Meyer for the juniors.
QB Sadie Tollefson for the seniors.

Final score tonight in the B-B-E Homecoming Powder Puff game: Seniors 28, Juniors 14. Video will be posted shortly after 9pm.

Scoring for the seniors were Sadie Tollefson (on a QB sneak), Taylor Gregory (on a pick return), Mackenzie Winter and Megan Weller. Gregory's pick return put the seniors ahead 14-7 near the end of the 2nd quarter, and Tollefson's one-yard sneak tied the game at 7-7 with 3:16 left in the first half.

The score was tied 14-14 in the closing minute of the 3rd quarter on a touchdown by junior Tori Wiener.

Weller had some key catches during the second half to keep the seniors in the game.

Peyton Miller got a 1st quarter touchdown catch from quarterback Jamie Meyer to put the juniors ahead 7-0 early in the 1st quarter.

Alright here's the (very rough-looking) video:

Homecoming continues on Thursday with Nerd Day and a home volleyball match.
